Jan Schiff Choir

Our Jan Schiff Choir program is designed to give students meaningful musical experiences at developmentally appropriate stages, with 4th Grade Choir, white shirts, offered during the fall semester (September–December) and 5th Grade Choir, navy shirts, offered during the spring semester (January–May). This structure allows students to explore music that is well-suited to their age and stage of development while building confidence, strengthening their young voices, and developing foundational vocal skills. This also allows for 5th grade students that wish to continue their musical journey as a member of a choir to have a faster and easier transition as they enter 6th grade to join Middle School Choir. As students progress, we encourage them to take on music and musical concepts in a more focused capacity, helping them develop greater independence, musical expression, and pride in their work. Through rehearsal and performance, students have the opportunity to grow not only as young musicians, but also as confident members of a musical community.
Parents and guardians are always welcome to reach out with any questions about the choir program, rehearsal expectations, performances, or how students can get involved. We look forward to supporting your child as they grow in confidence and develop their voice as a young musician! Please feel free to contact us at patrick.rodenbaugh@fortbendisd.gov and aura.trevino@fortbendisd.gov with any questions.
